The best coffee cake

Today's post is a short one but a must. This is a coffee cake recipe I have been swearing by for a couple years now. I deliberately avoid making it often because it always gets demolished within days, and that much butter and sugar is never a good idea for anyone. It's that good.

This is a link to the recipe. Gotta give credit while it's due, right?

The key to this recipe is twofold. One, you gotta whip the egg whites for that fluffy texture.

Two, you gotta use a mountain of butter. Mind you, three sticks of butter is not necessary (though delicious); I have had great results with just two sticks (1 1/4 c in the cake, 3/4 c in the crumble).

Here I halved the recipe
Have fun! This coffee cake will be a hit with everyone you know.
